I respect everyone views about them: some of you might not like them, others might do it instead, and others might not care at all about them, but I tell you this:
Among all the things DA offers, this is probably a good thing.
Why so?
Because it gets you a chance to have some exposure without paying for ads (which can be easily blocked by core membership and ADS blockers such as ABP).
It really triggers me when people harrass others because they randomly give out llamas.
If you don't want llamas notifications (Which I can understand, because maybe you hope it's a comment on one of your works, or you just simply don't want them because it's simply spam for you), you can deactivate BADGES NOTIFICATIONS in your options:
just go to your settings, you will easily find it.
I really hate to read that there are some people around here who will block you simply because you gave them a llama, or that they will attack you: what do you think you will gain doing so?
A single deviant can send you a single llama, so if you block them or not, it won't change anything, because you might not ever get any notification from that user; actually, you only loose the opportunity to get a new watcher, because if you block someone they can't watch you, favs your works, or even comment, and you know what?
This is the right consequences for those who "come here to enjoy art", but then hey block other users, and why so?
BECAUSE THEY ARE TRYING TO GET SOME EXPOSURE.
We are over 38 milions ACTIVE members in this website, over 160,000 deviations are submitted EVERYDAY (You can find these stats here: about.deviantart.com/), this means that even very talented artists have few chances of getting noticed.
"ah, but you only care about getting watchers!!"
Why don't you read more carefully what Deviantart is about:
"Founded in August 2000, DeviantArt is the largest online social network for artists and art enthusiasts, and a platform for emerging and established artists to exhibit, promote, and share their works with an enthusiastic, art-centric community. "
I think we all put some effort in what we do, and I think we all appreciate when others like our art, right?
And if you are not an artist, but you are here only to "enjoy art", then why should you block artists?
It's not true that "only shitty artists" give out llamas (I've read it and I felt a little bit triggered to be honest), even very talented artists do so, and if you block them, you are problably missing the chance to meet new awesome people and great artworks.
Also, to other artists: you should share llamas! You should get more exposure to your works, you deserve it!
Personally, I've being here on Deviantart for 7 years, and even if I did fan art, oc of popular series like digimon, I've struggled to reach 200 watchers, and it took me years, but as soon as I started giving out llamas, the numbers started to rise (sometimes I even got 100 new watchers in a single day), so this made me thinking:
"in a single day I couldn't got so better at art to gain 100 new watchers: this means that popularity and talent are not necessarily related".
I hope this journal might be helpful for everybody, both to llama haters and to emerging artists
P.s. I am also a sort of collector, especially in videogames xD So I like to see that little llama evolve to the highest badge

Stop the Bullying
Repost if you have a heart.
Dear bullies,
The boy you punched in the hall today? Committed suicide a few minutes ago.
That girl you called a slut in class today? She's a virgin.
The boy you called lame? He has to work every night to support his family.
That girl you pushed down the other day? She is already being abused at home.
You think you know them. Guess what, you don't!
Re-post this if you are against bullying, but I bet 99% of you won't. Re-post this if you're that 1% with a heart.
Let us show some respect to those that need it. You're life may depend on it dearly.
Just a reminder
I'm ok with people share my Doctor Who fan art plus make sure credit me.
But don't put them in download websites thank you!!!

Well how about that? That is pretty stupid to block someone JUST for giving them something SO unimportant! Who would do such a stupid thing?
